Back in the USA!
We arrived at Neah Bay, Washington on August 4th after 49 days at sea from Majuro in the Marshall Islands. It was a voyage filled with whales, dolphins, sea lions, sharks, huge ships (more than we’ve ever seen at sea), floating logs, and fabulous sunsets.
The last 10 days was sailed in fog and cold, rainy weather, surrounded by heavy ship traffic we could only hear, not see. It was scary.
But we are here!
Neah Bay is a little Indian fishing village filled with very nice folks. A great welcome. We are in the midst of carrying out all the details of arrival (customs, etc.) and getting the boat ready for the trip up the Straits of San Juan de Fuca to Port Angeles where will stay for a while and haul the boat for maintenance and repairs (including repairing damage from running into a five foot diameter log about 500 miles ago).
